Several Maine ATV clubs will ride their ATVs through their regions and host cookouts Saturday, Aug. 28, to raise funds that will help send children with physcal and developmental disabilities to sessions at Camp CaPella.
An ATV ride will be co-hosted by the Acadia Area ATVers ATV Club of Ellsworth and the Airline Snackbar ATVers out of Beddington. Registration will be from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Airline Snack Bar 40 miles east of Bangor on Route 193 in Beddington.
Donations are requested, and a cookout will also be held after the ride in Beddington. Those interestd may call 667-2052 for information.
Members from several ATV clubs in Central Maine and beyond will start from various locations and meet at Greenvill Junction on Moosehead Lake at 1 p.m. near Moosehead Motor Sports for a hot dog cookout, including a 50-50 drawing with all proceeds and club donations going to Camp CaPella.
Clubs participating will include the Moosehead ATV Riders ATV Club, the Central Maine ATV Club in Fairfield, The Moose Alley Riders ATV Club in Bingham, The River Valley Riders ATV Club in Rumford, the Big Indian ATV Riders in Canaan, Skowhegan and Cornville, the Central Maine Trail Blazers ATV Club in Corinna, the Island Falls Free Wheelers ATV Club in Island Falls, the Abbot Explorers ATV Club in Abbot, the Coburn Mountain ATV Riders ATV Club in Jackman, the Winnegance Wheelers in Phippsburg, the Narrow Gauge Riders in Monson, the Over The Hill ATV Riders in West Bath and the Topsham Trailriders ATV Club.
Located on Phillips Lake in Dedham, Camp CaPella provides quality-of-life experiences for people with disabilities and their families.
